Full tear-out to finish: cabinets, counters, backsplash, the flooring transition and paint. This is the trade behind most kitchen remodel Austin calls we get, and it's priced per square foot of the kitchen's footprint, not a flat number that hides what a bigger room actually costs.

Included in the per-square-foot basis
- Demo and haul-off of existing cabinets, counters and backsplash
- Subfloor inspection and patch repair where the old floor is compromised
- Cabinet install or reset, including box leveling and hardware
- Counter templating and coordination with the fabricator
- Backsplash tile set and grout
- Paint touch-up on walls and trim disturbed by the work
Not in the base number
- Cabinet and counter material cost itself — that's a separate line from the showroom or fabricator
- New circuits or a panel change; a licensed electrician is named on the estimate for that
- Moving a gas line for a range; a licensed plumber handles that piece
- Structural changes to a wall between kitchen and adjoining rooms without a stamped engineered plan
The order a kitchen actually comes apart and goes back together.
Cabinets don't get ordered until the walk-through measurements are confirmed on site, because a showroom estimate off a rough sketch is how kitchens end up with a half-inch gap at the wall.
Once cabinets are on order, the twelve-to-eighteen-day clock starts. Nothing about that number moves faster because a showroom quotes a shorter build time on the boxes themselves; installation, templating and finish work still take the days they take.
Walk-through and measure
Kitchen footprint, appliance locations and any wall the client wants gone get measured and photographed before a single cabinet is priced.
Demo and haul-off
Old cabinets, counters and backsplash come out. Subfloor gets checked here, before it's covered by anything new.
Cabinets ordered, rough-in coordinated
Cabinets go on order against confirmed measurements. Any new circuit or gas line move gets scheduled with the named licensed trade during this window, not after cabinets arrive.
Cabinet install and counter template
Boxes go in and get leveled first. Counters get templated off the installed cabinets, not off the original drawing.
Finish and sign-off
Backsplash, paint touch-up, hardware and a punch walk against the written scope close the job.

The 12–18 working day install window starts once cabinets physically arrive, separate from the order lead time above. A custom cabinet order can push total project time well past the install window; we build that into the written scope's timeline, not into the per-square-foot price.

How is a kitchen remodel priced if there's no fixed price list?
By the square foot of the kitchen's footprint, then adjusted for finish tier and anything structural or licensed-trade the tear-out turns up. The written scope carries the final basis, and the Scope Builder gives you an estimated band before that conversation starts.
How long does a kitchen remodel actually take once it starts?
Twelve to eighteen working days once cabinets are on order, not from the day you call us. A showroom promising a faster cabinet turnaround doesn't change the install and finish time on our end.
Do you handle the electrical and plumbing in a kitchen remodel?
We run the framing, cabinet and finish work. New circuits, a panel change, or moving a gas line for a range go to a licensed electrician or plumber, named on the estimate rather than buried in our line item.
What if the wall between the kitchen and the next room is load-bearing?
Work on that wall stops until there's a stamped engineered plan. We don't remove a load-bearing wall on a guess, and we won't quote one as if it were a standard partition wall.
